The discovery of sculpture as an art form expressing her sensitivity was a true surprise in 2011. Sophie Paternotte discovered her pleasure in sculpting with stone. The stone guides me through its inherent characteristics. I feel it, I observe it from every angle; I listen to it. I am guided by respect for its texture, its color, its hardness, and the density of its material. From a heavy, inert stone, through creative transformation, a work of art, imbued with movement, lightness, and sensuality, is born from my hands.
