"Bedtime Stories" is a series of photographs depicting small paper silhouettes set against everyday objects. with everyday objects. The particularity of this exercise is that it doesn't use any photomontage editing software, just development software. What you see in the image is what you see in the lens. the lens. Most of the photos are accompanied by 'behind-the-scenes' shots.
Born out of work done as part of an academy course, the technique has inspired the artist to to represent what he calls "the little worlds" that he has seen since he was a child. Lulled by tales, legends tales, legends, films and comic strips, Mathieu often imagines objects in a roundabout way, as if they were his own. by changing their scale and sometimes their use.
The series has no pretensions other than to take the viewer on a visual journey through colourful images, with the sole aim of titillating the imagination.
